At Drone Operations, we are excited to present a One-day (In School) Drone Incursion designed for students to gain hands-on experience flying in the CASA Approved “Excluded Category” and achieve the following outcomes:

             1) Unit of Competency – AVIY0028 Operate Remotely Piloted Aircraft in Excluded Category Sub-2kg Operations

                2) CASA Operator Accreditation (16 years and older)

The incursions will be presented by one of our Industry professionals who hold a CASA RePL Accreditation.

The Incursion is being presented by a CASA Authorised ReOC Company ( remotely piloted aircraft operator's certificate)

We ensure that all conditions are met for “Flying Drones in Schools”.

Upon successful completion, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to operate drones in the excluded category, potentially opening doors to future employment opportunities.

Program Details:

Duration:  One-day incursion 8.30am – 3.30pm

During the incursion, students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes:

- Introduction to CASA Excluded Category

- Understanding public liability insurance

- VET Competency framework

- Flight planning

- Pre-flight inspections

- Obtaining CASA operator accreditation

- Taking off and climbing with RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems)

- Controlling RPAS in abnormal or emergency situations

- Descending and landing RPAS

- Completing post-flight inspections

- Knowledge exam

- Practical exam

Cost:

  - $245 per student for schools in Brisbane/Gold Coast min. 8 – max.12 students

  - $295 per student for schools in Capital cities min. 10- max.12 students

  - $345 per student for regional schools min. 10- max.12 students

  - **Includes: ** Free participation for 2 teachers per course

 

The cost covers:

- Qualified drone instructor and any travel expenses for regional schools

- Drones (Excluded Category) for students to fly

- Drone Operation “Public Liability” insurance

- Learner’s guide and workbook

- VET Competency certification upon completion

This certification will further enhance their skills and open more career pathways in the Aviation industry.
